J.S. Bach: Motetten und Partiten (Teil 1)

Offizielle Konzertankündigung:

The Monteverdi Choir and violinist Kati Debretzeni begin a two-part journey through Bach’s motets and his music for unaccompanied violin.

Bach saw himself as a master-craftsman in the service of God. Whether shaping a hymn to the Almighty out of a glowing tapestry of choral sound, or taking a solitary violin to the brink of the possible, he never failed to create music that’s as perfect as it is profound. Over two beautifully-conceived concerts, the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists perform Bach’s sacred motets, alongside his Partitas and Sonatas for unaccompanied violin, played by the EBS’s leader Kati Debretzeni. In the period setting of St Martin-in-the-Fields, this should be therapy for the spirit on a central London evening.
